Ms. Xiaohong Yang is Director of the Transport and Communications Division of Asian Development Bank (ADB), providing support to 10 developing countries in central west region in improving their connectivity, trade expansion, and competitiveness. In this position, she also serves as the Chair of Transport Sector Group, focusing on the development, promotion, and implementation of sustainable transport initiative in ADB’s developing member countries. She held positions of increasing responsibilities including Lead Transport Specialist for East Asia region since joining ADB in 1999. She served the World Bank Group from 1994 to 1998. She is the principal author of Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Transport and Trade Facilitation Strategy 2020 and a range of transport publications. She currently serves as a member of the Standing Committee on US Transport Research Board. She holds a graduate degree in economics and a Bachelor’s degree in international finance.
